Our Approach
We take a long-term, partnership-driven approach, working closely with local organisations to build programs that deliver measurable benefits in employment, skills, and economic participation.
Key Commitments
- Local employment & skills: Create pathways through apprenticeships, traineeships, work placements, and mentoring.
- Education & youth engagement: Partner with schools, TAFEs, and training organisations for site visits and work experience.
- Supplier development: Prioritise procurement from local and Indigenous businesses and support small suppliers with compliance and capability-building.
- Sponsorship & community support: Provide targeted sponsorships, in-kind donations, and event support that strengthen regional communities.
- Environmental stewardship: Support local environmental protection and repair initiatives that contribute to sustainable industry growth.
Programs & Initiatives
- School and TAFE partnerships: Facilitate site visits, toolbox talks, and short placements to help students gain real-world experience.
- Community sponsorships: Support local sports clubs, festivals, and skills competitions.
How We Engage And Measure Impact
SMP’s start by listening to community groups, councils, educators, and Traditional Owners to understand their needs, protocols, and priorities before developing initiatives together. Once the foundations are established, we will set key aims and ideal outcomes for us to achieve over an agreed period of time. Throughout the duration of our partnership, we will review progress towards achievement of the agreed goals to determine if success is being mutually achieved.
